Bad parenting can look a lot of different ways. Sometimes, it's super evident from the first time you meet a family that something is not right; it can also be extremely difficult to pick up on, especially for people who don't live with the family. This past weekend, I did little else than watch interviews with Gypsy Rose Blanchard following her release from prison, and I really cannot believe how bad her mom was. Imagine medically poisoning your healthy child so that you can live off of the goodwill and charity of others…I know that a lot of people grow up in bad situations, and it's not a competition, but Gypsy Rose Blanchard's story truly takes the cake. The parents from these parenting texts are not on the same level as the most infamous true crime story of the 2010s, but they are certainly not examples of superb parenting.
